Candace House Wins Grand Prize at Fast Pitch Winnipeg

After weeks of preparation and practice, Candace House was chosen as the Grand Prize winner at the 2018 Fast Pitch Showcase event on March 14, receiving a $10,000 grant.

Represented by Executive Director, Cecilly Hildebrand, we are honoured to have been able to take part in this incredible opportunity through The Winnipeg Foundation. Fast Pitch Winnipeg, now its third year, pairs leaders from the charitable community with business sector coaches to develop three-minute, high-impact pitches.

Candace House wishes to thank our personal coaches, Cindy Goertzen and Brad Zander, who provided invaluable support and feedback throughout the process. As well as group coaches, Dave McLeod and Cate Friesen.

Thank you to semi-final judges, Richard Cloutier, Joanne Kelly, and Kathleen Martens. And Showcase judges, David Asper, Johanna Hurme, and Justice Deborah McCawley, as well as Showcase host, Ismaila Alfa.

Candace House would like to extend a most sincere thank you to The Winnipeg Foundation and all staff involved with the event. Your dedication and passion for your community was clearly evident every step of the way.

Congratulations to People’s Choice winner, North End Women’s Centre, represented by Executive Director Cynthia Drebot. 1st Runner Up, Snowflake Place for Children and Youth, represented by Executive Director Cheryl Martinez. And 2nd runner up, Islamic Social Service Association, represented by Chief Operating Officer, William Barr. As well as to the 10 other charity leaders and organizations who participated.
