Welcome to Amber, our new Victim & Family Support Liaison!

Hello! My name is Amber Neufeld, and I started this past October as a Victim & Family Support Liaison here at Candace House.

I was born and raised in Winnipeg, having graduated from Canadian Mennonite University with Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and Counselling. I’ve done a variety of social support roles - mentoring junior camp staff, Program Support at a retreat centre in Northern Ireland, and most recently a Boarding Advisor at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, supporting students in their living centre.

I also have experience in social media management and enjoy graphic design - I’ve already been behind the scenes of our our Facebook & Instagram pages, and I’m excited to communicate what makes Candace House so special!

Already in my first few months working here, I’ve been grateful to work alongside such amazing coworkers and support partners, as well as to walk alongside wonderful families going through this immensely difficult journey. My favourite parts of this work so far have been finding laughter in the midst of hard days and making someone’s coffee just the way they like it.

I enjoy spending time with my family & puppy Benny (frequently featured on Candace House’s social media!), going to see local music shows, keeping up with various reality TV shows, and fuelling my coffee addiction at one of the many local coffee shops around town.

- Amber
