The impact on families following the violent loss of their loved one is tremendous. This includes the financial expense and practical challenges related to food and meals while attending court proceedings.
Karen's son, TJ, was murdered in 2003. Before Candace House opened in 2018, families were on their own to find a place to eat and pay for meals.
Now, because of support from our community we are able to reduce this burden, offering a full meal program
free of charge. Since Candace House opened, we have served over 1600 meals and 1800 snacks & cups of coffee.
