First Anniversary Open House
Celebrating Our First Year

On Thursday, December 5, 2019, Candace House celebrated its first anniversary by inviting the public to attend our Open House. A huge thank you to everyone who dropped by to say hello!
In connection with our open house, we had the opportunity to share some of our highlights and major achievements from the past year. Including how we were able to support over 200 unique family members and friends following the loss of 23 individuals due to violent crime. Candace House staff also joined families in court for over 350 hours to provide support, comfort, and safety during the trials, bail hearings, jury verdicts, and sentencing hearings.
We also shared snacks and meals, connected victims and survivors to additional resources and referrals, provided practical assistance and offered knowledgeable information and emotional support.
This incredible impact is only possible because of the generosity of our community. We are so grateful for the kindness and compassion that has been extended through donations and continued engagement.
A special thank you to goes out to Black Rifle Coffee Company, David's Tea - Kildonan Place, and Chew/The Store Next Door for their donations of coffee, tea, and snacks for our event. A big thanks as well to all those who called to congratulate us, and to the many others who continue to support Candace House in a variety of ways. This would not be possible without you!
