Have you lost a loved one because of murder, drive impaired or criminal negligence?
Have you attended the court proceedings?
Do you want to share your experiences to help the public understand the impact and challenges of coping and going through the court process?
Then Candace House wants to hear your story.
Candace House is a new and first of its kind organization working to provide support for victims and survivors of violent crime.
Our Healing Haven opens this fall and will offer a safe and comforting home-like day refuge within one block of the Winnipeg law courts for victims and survivors who have lost a loved one and are attending court proceedings. This space will provide families with a place to take a break and debrief, eat lunch in a private setting, smudge and participate in healing ceremonies, meet with support people, or wait for the jury to return.
If you have lost a loved one and have gone through the court process, Candace House wants to hear your story and help increase public awareness and understanding about the impact and struggles you have faced. And why a safe haven that's close by, but out of the court environment, is so important.
In the form below, share with us about some of your experiences and the impact of the attending court proceedings.
Candace House will be in contact to follow up and talk with you about how your story could help create public awareness and understanding and demonstrate the need for a Healing Haven.
All information submitted to Candace House will be kept private and confidential until your consent is given. Is it your choice to participate, and you may contact Candace House at any time to have your information deleted.
